Deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Graham's passing. He and I came out of Art Center and showed up in NYC around the same time, we moved in similar freelance photo circles that have consistently intersected over the past few decades. His warm smile and embracing greetings were always a constant as our paths crossed in various venues. I was not aware that he was with the Morgan library until I attended a cultural heritage seminar there a couple of years ago, and was once again accosted by that giant grin and warm handshake. "i was hoping that was the same you on the attendance sheet we made!!!.." is what he said. And biking past the library several times over the last years, i always meant to stop in to say hi again... .
Many years ago, it just happened that he and my wife were in a citizen pruners class together, offered by the city, it encouraged people to become amateur arborists and tend to trees in stress in their own neighborhoods. As licensed citizen pruners, my wife set forth to save the trees while Graham took on the challenge of planting new trees on his block , trees to fill the empty and abandoned sidewalk pots around his building. I am sure those trees are still there. I can't look at sidewalk tree without thinking of Graham and his citizen pruner license!!!
I will certainly be missing those chance encounters, and I bid my heartfelt condolences to the family of a true and fine gentleman.
As an aside, i too drove an MG at Art Center, but mine was given over to more practical considerations, and I was always amazed when Graham reaffirmed to me the continued possession of his own, (or two it seems in the photos.)

Dear Anastasia and Graham, you are one of my favourite loving couple. This is my last photo of you both. It was 2 summers ago when you had invited me to join in for a gathering at your son's Paris new school.
I cherish this last souvenir of a precious and rare time shared in a small parisian café nearby. Graham kept saying I haven't been in NY for a long time, and should visit soon and I said that first you need to come visit in my house in Monthermé.
The garden is now full of flowers, today they are for you in spirit. Dear Anastasia, Carol and the children, I send you all my warm thoughts as well as to siblings and friends. Some friends are from Art Center College of Design, where did a film together, which initiated our long-lasting friendship. I'll miss your laugh and your tease my dear friend Graham. Farewell till we meet again.

Sadly I have no photos to share but I carry with me the memory of Graham's wonderful gaze which made you know immediately that he was there with you in the moment, whatever that moment might be, full of warmth, kindness, clarity and vision. I knew him far too little but miss him now and will miss him from now on. What a testament that is to a life well-lived that he could touch so profoundly even those on the margins of his life. Charles and I send our love to Anastasia, to the boxer children (happy memory of an afternoon in the Perigord sunshine) and to our dear Carol.

Thank you, Ian. Graham loved and respected your music, your capacity for love, and your cooking.
